Monroe Consulting is recruiting on behalf of one of the leading internet venture incubators in Europe, Asia and beyond. Our client is expanding their Southeast Asian operations and is looking for a motivated, forward-looking individual to join them in building the largest online shopping mall in the region. Our client has quickly expanded to become the fastest growing e-commerce Web sites in Indonesia. They have introduced a wave of online shopping to Indonesia with the most extensive selection of brand names, the highest level of customer service and the most experienced online marketing team of any e-commerce site in the region.   They are currently looking for a Senior Merchandiser Camera and Video to join their buying and sourcing organization. The winning candidate will be a part of building one of the most exciting e-commerce businesses ever seen in Southeast Asia. The position includes initiating and developing relationships with key brands and suppliers within a category, negotiating terms and closing deals. You will collaborate with a strong team of Merchandisers to ensure that our product offering is the most competitive on the market. This role will only be limited by the individual’s vision, creativity and drive to leverage contacts and build ranges that will be the envy of the retail industry.

Responsibilities: Team leadership and people development Relationship building with new and existing brands and suppliers Negotiating deal terms with suppliers Sharing your deep understanding of brand positioning Lead and support a team of junior buyers to plan and purchase within company budgets and schedules Delivering comprehensive trend knowledge and industry insight to encapsulate our individuality in our offering Ensure our product range is the best in the market Price, Plans and arranges merchandize for display Drives sales and profitability through proper merchandizing and overall presentation of specific department(s) of ownership Prepare for and implement seasonal/monthly new flow and initiatives Identifies ways to drive sales generation through business analysis; ensures action is taken to maximize sales potential Communication successes, opportunities and solutions Requirements: Extensive experience (+4 years) in Camera and Video Strong connections and network to main players Canon, Kodak, Fujifilm, Sony, Samsung etc. An extremely credible reputation and relationship among suppliers and other members of the industry The ability to help craft and independently execute buying strategies Experience in all aspects of buying Exceptional relationship management and negotiation skills Excellent time management skills A hunger for success and a sense of urgency All applications will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
