Monroe Consulting is recruiting on behalf of one of the leading internet venture incubators in Europe, Asia and beyond. Our client is expanding their Southeast Asian operations and is looking for a motivated, forward-looking individual to join them in building the largest online-shopping mall in the region. Our client has quickly expanded to become the fastest growing e-commerce Web site in Indonesia. They have introduced a wave of online shopping to Indonesia with the most extensive selection of brand names, the highest level of customer service and the most experienced online marketing team of any e-commerce site in the region. They are currently looking for a Senior Merchandiser Consumer Electronics to join their buying and sourcing organization. The winning candidate will be a part of building one of the most exciting e-commerce businesses ever seen in Southeast Asia. The position includes initiating and developing relationships with key brands and suppliers within a Consumer Electronic Division on highest level, negotiating terms and closing deals. You will supervise a strong team of Buyers from categories TV & Audio as well as Home Appliances. You will be reporting directly to the Managing Director. This role will only be limited by the individual’s vision, creativity and drive to leverage contacts and build ranges that will be the envy of the retail industry.

Responsibilities: Team leadership and people development Setting KPIs and competitive targets Sharing your current understanding of brand positioning Monitor and support a team of junior buyers to plan and purchase within company budgets and schedules Driving internal Product Development Delivering comprehensive trend knowledge and industry insight to encapsulate the company’s individuality in our collections Mentoring and monitoring range architecture as agreed with the Head of Buying and Managing Director Guiding and approving buyers product and selections Requirements: Proven success in building commercially viable ranges An extremely credible reputation amongst suppliers and other members of the industry Strong connections and network to main players Samsung, Toshiba, LG, Philips, Sony, Sharp, etc. The ability to help craft and independently execute buying strategies Strong managerial experience within Consumer Electronics +5 years recent experience as a Senior Buyer, Category manager or similar Exceptionrelationship management and negotiation skills Excellent time-management skills A hunger for success and a sense of urgency All applications will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
