We are seeking a candidate for a Senior/Principal Consultant role in our Regulatory Consulting Practice – based in our Melbourne office – although we can be flexible on location. Senior Consultants are a key source of consulting leadership in the Ovum business, playing a critical role in developing consulting propositions and leading consulting engagements with clients. Senior Consultants are also expected to work productively with both the analyst and sales team and to contribute to the research agenda when not on consulting engagements.
A strong telecoms regulatory background is a must with a mix of regulatory and commercial experience highly regarded. Ideally you will have specific knowledge and hands-on experience in the following areas:
• Operational experience in a telecoms regulation role;
• Proven experience in the analysis and modelling of network costs and the application of these costs to the pricing of wholesale regulated products;
• Understanding of the international development trends and best practices of government ICT policies and regulation, interconnection and regulation of next generation networks;
• Experience in the formulation of telecoms strategy in areas such as market entry strategies, customer segmentation, and/or pricing strategies; and
• Consulting experience in the ICT industry.
Responsibilities will include:
• Leadership of consulting assignments;
• Recognition and development of potential consulting opportunities with clients
• Delivery of consulting services as part of a wider team;
• Client relationship management;
• Project management;
• Research in related telecommunications areas, which requires excellent knowledge of the research management process and written English;
• Participation in speaking engagements; and
• Working in locations outside the office environment and home country.
You will have a degree and significant experience in the telecoms industry preferably from a telecoms regulatory background and with some consulting experience.
