Responsibilities: - Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment
- Initiates reordering when necessary
- Preparation of a Preventive Maintenance Schedule, ensuring strict adherence
- Prepares work specifications and negotiates contracts for work to be performed by outside contractors; coordinates/directs the work of outside contractors to ensure quality completion of projects within agreed timelines
- Analyzes the scope of improvement in production and utilities operations, performs necessary engineering design and layout, prepares cost estimates and makes recommendations to meet specific project needs
- Accountable for Capex projects, key NPD/EPD projects of a significant scale; achieving results through a team of engineers
- Coordinates the installation, testing, start-up and maintenance of new equipment in coordination with operations, contractors and vendors
- Preparation of annual repairs and maintenance budget and monitoring variance of actual costs against budget on a regular basis; taking necessary corrective action to improve overall cost efficiency
- Assures continuous service of utilities; analyzes and reports costs of utilities and explores alternatives that will result in greater economy, safety and reliability
- Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement
Requirements: - Engineer, PG (MBA)
- Experience of around 5-7 years in managing a plant’s engineering operations
- Commercial awareness: Understands the impact of supply decisions on business profitability
- In-depth knowledge of engineering responsibilities, systems and standards and GMPs
- Achievement focused and able to work in a direct and often pressurized environment
- Entrepreneurial skills in terms of innovation and problem solving
- Perseverance, tough-mindedness and ability to influence and demonstrate strong team-working abilities and commitment
- Strong track record of delivery
- Proven experience in leading managing and developing large teams, able to influence people of all levels
- Flexibility in thinking and pragmatic problem-solving skills
