Radio Planning and Optimization Engineer
Jakarta Raya

Responsibilities:

The 2G/3G Radio Planning Engineer contributes to the RF Design of the regional cellular network including: search area issuance, candidate assessment, and approvals within sector area of responsibility; redesigning of mature network areas to minimize capacity constraints; working with other areas of network to ensure performance fixes/initiatives are in place.

The 2G/3G Radio Planning Engineer is responsible of the role include site selection, technical site surveys and drive test performance and analysis and troubleshooting of 2G/ 3G Network by using planning and optimization tools.

Scope of Work:

• Determine required number of base station on traffic and coverage plan.
• Perform radio frequency plan.
• Site survey and Traffic analysis.
• Use radio placement tools plus mapping and demographic data to design Base Station/Radio Port deployment as well as the necessary network elements in wireless applications.
• Optimize propagation models based upon feedback from drive tests.
• Testing for verification of RF network coverage in that it meets design requirements- Establishment of equipment hand over parameters and neighbor lists.
• Plan RF overbuilds with necessary changes to site configuration, placement and frequency coordination of existing wireless systems in support of network upgrade requirements including both system wide reliability and network quality issues.
• Preparation and execution of technical meetings
• Performs UMTS RF/Network planning, traffic analysis, evaluate candidates and network optimisation.
• Use standardized RF planning software products in the design and evaluation of the radio.
• Conduct site surveys, gather and analyze market specific information. Good understanding of UMTS technology isessential.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication) or equivalent.
• At least 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
• 2 Full-Time and Contract position available.
• At least minor degree in Telecommunications or related discipline with 1-3 years’ experience  in UMTS, GSM  BSS/Access network.
• Experience in frequency planning, statistical analysis, KPI monitoring and BSS parameter tuning.
• Strong analytical skills, be able to identify and resolve complex problems and issues arising from data communications and networking.
• Candidate should have skill sets in operating GSM/UMTS Network Planning Tools and Optimization Tools, understanding of RF propagation, antenna and EM interference.
• Experience with CDMA & 3G WCDMA
• Be able to work as part of a small team and use initiative as required.
• Have good communication  and presentation skills.
• Good English.
